Soliciting Rec Letters When Top-Choice Teachers Say No
I had been likely to go to community college, but not long ago i made a connection with a rep from the four-year school at an university reasonable and I also’ve made a decision to apply there despite the fact that I am aware I’m late in comparison to most seniors. The school requires two suggestion letters. The 2 teachers I asked stated they just do 15 per 12 months and so they’ve currently done those, so they can not do mine. I don’t know other instructors very well. Can I ask my moms and dads? A buddy? A neighbor? They all understand me well and that can mention my talents and weaknesses.
Without seeing the actual form, ‘The Dean’ can not state for certain. But typically, colleges expect teacher recommendation letters. Some ask for one; others want two. Whether or not your college is significantly diffent plus the application doesn’t specify ‘Teacher,’ you’d be doing your self a disservice by maybe not publishing any sources from a person who taught you in your junior or year that is senior.
So here is what ‘The Dean’ suggests:
First, email both of this instructors whom turned you straight down (or an in-person request is fine, too) and explain which you just recently do not attend community college to ensure that’s why you’re late with the recommendation request. Ask if there’s any possibility they might make an exception towards the 15-limit policy.
